Biography

Diana Langell, a Bay Area native, has a genuine passion for art and design. Completely self-taught, much of her skill was gleaned from the study and meticulous duplication of contemporary and classical techniques. Diana's early career in the hectic high-tech arena limited the opportunities to create art. A 15-month stint in Europe, running an internet-based antiques business headquartered in London, fueled the fire of change. After returning to California, and with a little gentle persuasion from her dear husband Tom, pursuing a professional career as a Muralist finally fulfilled her need to create.Diana has been painting on a grand scale for over 10 years.

A focus on precision and accuracy characterize the works of Diana Langell. Her strengths emerge early in the design process, developing clever approaches to the client’s decorative wishes, and integrating the project masterfully into their environment.“I’m always fascinated with the process of visualizing and bringing to life the thoughts and ideas of my clients.”

In recent years, the life of this artist has been transformed by the birth of two magnificent children; a daughter arrived in 2000, and a son in 2002. Fulfilling the need to capture the special phase of life surrounding birth and childhood, Diana produces exquisite sculptures marrying life casting and Raku ceramic techniques. Her signature product, the Belly Bowl, emerges from the casting of a pregnant belly, and results in a captivating display of motherhood in brilliant metallic and iridescent finishes.

From detailed Trompe l'Oeil paintings to funky and fun kids handprints, Diana Langell's professional focus is creating custom art designed to express your style.
